MAD Academy is not a typical training institution. As a DTC [Discreet Training Centre] our mandate is to provide short, high quality and intensive courses for the industry. The 3D Animators Course is a selection of these short courses run consecutively to meet the needs of many of our students requiring less time between each course and less expense due to the vast discount provided.

MAD Academy has developed a learning environment which provides our students entering the job seekers marketplace with an edge. An 'employable edge'. This is a proven result, achieved by the purpose designed course structure which simulates the commercial reality of a private sector production studio. Students are immersed into a comprehensive, daily, self reliant, problem solving environment within which they are provided with the latest in imaging tools and access to some of the country's most commercially experienced trainers. The situation is autonomous, high pressure and non-reliant on a traditional grading system. The experience is real. Real experience is invaluable to a prospective employer. We hope and encourage you get the most of your time with us and above all enjoy the experience.

Pre-requisites include basic computer skills and know how within the Windows environment. You should be able to navigate within windows, create folders and save files. All courses are run on PC workstations running the latest Windows operating system.

Class structure. Classes for all courses are broken up into instructional class times followed by lab times. Daytime classes include a scheduled lunch break from 12:30pm - 1:30pm and also include a short break mid-morning and mid-afternoon. There is also a large emphasis here on hands on experience for the student.

Instructional times consist of a Discreet Certified Instructor(DCI) walking you through your course content utilizing examples and course resources which are made available to you. This includes video, course notes, and other materials as required.

Lab times are the periods where you get a chance to apply what you are being taught, run through tutorials or practical exercises and also for you to work on projects. These times are supervised but there is not necessarily a DCI available to you. You are encouraged to problem solve yourself and experiment. You are able to bring questions etc. to the instructional sessions where a DCI is available to you.

Daytime classes are between 9am - 5pm
Evening classes are between 6pm - 9:30pm
