Combustion Complete

This course is for individuals new to combustion as well as for current combustion users wanting to upgrade or enhance their existing post production skills, or perhaps change over from other compositing and visual effects packages.

The course introduces the paint module and some compositing principles. It also explains how to animate, link, and control layers, as well as how to change layer surface properties. Other topics such as channels, mattes and masks, and the use of null objects, lights and cameras are also covered. For more complex situations, tracking and stabilizing of footage, and the use of the Discreet Color Corrector and Keyer, and the nesting of composites are treated. Also covered are Rich Pixel Renderings, as well as Particle Effects in depth.

Organised into a series of theory and hands on lab assignments, the course ensures that the student will receive 35 hours of well paced, intensive professional training.

Once you have completed this course, you will have a commercial level understanding of professional post production disciplines that relate directly to the 3d animation and digital industry, whether it be Film, Broadcast, TV, Web or Pre-Press.

This course does not just focus on the buttons, but does cover the processes that underlie them and the reasons they are used in production. This not only helps you understand the concepts, but also how to apply them to your own work.

This course teaches you the essential elements and concepts of compositing and visual effects using Combustion. You will benefit from the experience of Discreet Certified Instructors as well as educators, consultants and Discreet Training Specialists who have helped to put this course together.
